The Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation’s Discover Archaeology programs are mobile. We come directly to your school with innovative, interactive archaeological programs.
Discover Archaeology has been developed by a professional archaeologist with years of archaeological and historical resources experience with public and private sector companies (including Parks Canada, Lifeways of Canada, and the University of Calgary). As such, Discover Archaeology provides students with an excellent opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the past cultures and people who have shaped Alberta. Delivered by graduates from the University of Calgary’s Archaeology Program, the program materials are cutting-edge. Your students can learn from the scientists who define history in Alberta and beyond.
The Discover Archaeology programs for Division One (Kindergarten through Grade 3) introduce students to different cultural perspectives, eras, and archaeological methodologies. Division Two programs directly addresses topics in the grades 4, 5, and 6 Social Studies curricula, and in the grade 6 Science curriculum. Program options include half and full-day programs.
