How Do We Register?

calendarThe majority of our programs require pre-registration. When program registration opens for any particular program, the program will be posted on our EVENTS CALENDAR The EVENT LINK contained in the program’s calendar listing will lead you directly to its registration page, where you can sign up and pay for your program. We’re just in the process of setting up all of our programs for 2015, so please check back soon and register for some great outdoor experiences!

Park Talks

These great informative and entertaining talks started as Stewards’ Lectures, to help our incredible volunteers learn interesting and amazing facts about the park. Due to high public interest we’ve now opened them to the general public! Members attend free of charge (yet another benefit to Park Membership), and non-members pay a small $5 fee.

We try to schedule a talk each month from September through May, so keep your eyes on the site. We cover a variety of topics – certainly something for everyone.

Prairie Foraging

A wide variety of edible plants are tucked in the windswept prairie and foothills of Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. Learn about what to eat in the park and historical uses for these plants. These tours include information on things like greens, berries, coffee substitutes and more! Sign up for just one tour, or join all four and watch the edible landscape change as the season progresses.

Walking Tours

Private walking tours are offered primarily during the late spring and summer months (May through early September), and as weather permits. If you would like to book a tour, please email or call 403-851-9053. We’d be happy to help you out.

Groups are welcome to book a tour. The $100 fee provides a guide for up to 7 people. If you would like us to work with a larger group, please add $10 for each additional participant.

There are a number of walking programs to choose from. Generally, these walks last from 1.5 to 2.5 hours, but we are flexible enough to work with you to fit any time requirements you may have.

Photography Walks

Walk through the park with an experienced photographer and park expert (one of our very own Stewards), and learn how to get the best shots of the vistas and fascinating flora and fauna of the park. If you’re interested in covering the most ground possible, this is the tour for you. You’ll range across the park, moving through a variety of landscapes, pausing to shoot what interests you. These programs are limited availability based on volunteer availability, so MUST be scheduled well in advance.

Guided Natural and Historical Resources Walks

Join one of our staff or park stewards for a guided walk of the park. Pick from a number of options. Hike Yodel and Lily Loops to stretch your legs, or take on Badger Bowl for a bit more of a challenge. Talk to us and we can certainly help you make plans for a wonderful guided experience.

Photography Workshops

What a great way to learn to use your camera! Come out to the park and learn from the experts while taking advantage of fantastic foothills vistas and natural landscapes.

Private Golf Cart Tours:

Golf Cart tours are offered during the late spring and summer months (late May through early September), as weather permits. Groups of up to 8 individuals are welcome to book out pre-scheduled tour times found on the events calendar for $160. If you’d like a time not listed on the calendar, the fee is $250. For an additional fee, we can accommodate larger groups of up to 29 people. If you would like to book a private golf cart tour, please email or call 403-851-9053. We’d be happy to help you out.

The Best of Glenbow Golf Cart Tour

What a great way to see Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park! This 2 hour guided tour takes you as far east and as far west as our paved pathways extend. We make frequent stops to explain the history and ecology of the park while you enjoy the stunning vistas. This tour is a great way for those with mobility challenges to experience the park. It’s also a fantastic way for first-time park visitors to better understand how big the park is and plan out their future trips.

Birding On the Go

Though the Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park is most celebrated for its rolling grasslands, the east end of the park contains a treed valley with plenty of habitat for birds. Ride on our club golf cart down to the east end of the Park with an experienced birder and take an easy walk through the trees to observe the birds of the park in their home. This tour involves some walking, and is best for those who are able to do moderate walking and stand for extended periods of time. These are limited availability tours, with only a few available in early spring (the first and last 2 weeks of May and first week of June), so book early!

Custom Programs

A Park guide enriches your experience at Glenbow Ranch! Privately booked programs and tours (in a golf cart or on foot) can be scheduled at your convenience, just give us a bit of notice. We prefer knowing at least a week ahead of time, but if you call 24 hours in advance and we’re not already booked, we will do what we can to accommodate your needs. If your hiking group, book club, or even your family is interested in private guided programs at the ranch, we are more than happy to discuss the available options. Please call 403-851-9053 or email
