Celebrate Parks Day at Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park!

Join us on July 16th  on the north side of Yodel Loop (just downhill from the Park Office) for a fun filled day that includes the Run at the Ranch and a host of free family activities that includes an Alberta Park’s play, Mountain View Optometry Facepainting, Cochrane Dodge Jeep Ram Pony Rides, Cochrane Lions Rodeo Royalty, Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Cochrane Search and Rescue demonstrations, Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation, hands on programs, Cochrane Fun Van, MacKay’s Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park ice cream (as long as supplies last), and more.

Bring a picnic and settle in for a great afternoon of family fun – old fashioned style! It’s a great way to celebrate the park with your family!

  • 11:30 onward: Lots of fun hands on activities and interactive displays, including GRPF Program Teasers, Cochrane Fun Van, Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Cochrane Search and Rescue demonstrations, Alberta Parks Mounted Patrol, Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, Bearspaw Historical Society, Archaeological Society of Alberta, Friends of Kananaskis Country, and the Alberta Off-Highway Vehicle Association.
  • Noon onwards: MacKay’sGlenbow Ranch Provincial Park Ice Cream (as long as supplies last), Mountain View Optometry Facepainting, Cochrane Dodge Jeep Ram Pony Rides, Cochrane Lions Rodeo Royalty, and meet Max the MaxWell Dog!
  • 1:30 PM:  Alberta Parks Interpretive Theatre Presents: Charlie’s Raptors: Secret Agents of the Air!  The Raptors are leading covert missions in skies everywhere.  Spend a day with the Kananaskis sector as they train their new recruits to fulfill their destiny as top predators.  Red-tailed Hawk, Osprey, and the other raptors are always ready to keep small animal populations in check!
